Immuderm Scam Mail
So I got this piece of mail today - at home and at work.
It was in a hand-written envelope with no return address. There was a hand-written note on the newspaper ad inside the envelope as well. I felt violated. This blog entry describes it very well and it was written in June! It just seems wrong somehow. I can deal with my name and address in databases, but for someone to hand write an envelope and a note to me in person gives me the heebie-jeebies.

I suspect you mean that getting a hand written note delivered to your home and place of work from an unknown solicitor who doesn't know you from a hole in the wall gives you the heebie jeebies. Because I'm pretty sure if I came to your workplace and delivered a note to you, you'd be happy.
Still, I'm making light of something that *is* weird. I wonder why the solicitor didn't consider that this would make you, or anybody, immediately put off.
And. You have beautiful skin.
I suppose I was missing those few words - someone I don't know to hand write...
And I'd be really happy to receive a hand written note from any of my friends.

I received the same publicity in June and again today. It litteraly freaked me out since I was victim of harrassment several years ago. I thought it was starting all over. In my case, my work directly involves exporting goods to Russia. Freaky! Thanks to the note posted on your web site I now know this is only a poor thought-out marketing strategy and that I have nothing serious to worry about. Thank you!
That's actually why I posted it. I needed to let people know that it wasn't personal in anyway. I'm glad it worked.

Just to say I received one of these today, all the way form Santa Ana to my home in the East coast of the UK! I don't know anybody in the USA, so guessed it must be a scam of some sort - and got the link to this page when I searched for 'Immuderm scam'!

I got one of these today. I know some people in California, so was very excited to have hand written mail - a rare occurrence these days. I realised it was a scam when I saw that the price was in pounds and the closing prices on the back also had "advertisment" at the top of the page. Then I found this page... Quite clever, if a little nuts! Still, I actually thought it was quite funny, because for a minute I genuinely thought a friend of mine was telling me I had bad wrinkles!!

and just another product I'm sure doesn't work. It's great to have a site like this that confirms that this kind of marketing tactic is a bad idea.
Yesterday I received a small envelope addressed to me. The return address was Dr Aleksander Olsen, 2340 Mira Mar Avenue, Long Beach, CA. I was googling Immuderm when I came upon your site. I agree that it is weird. I will trash this and it doesn't effect me, but I fear for those who may try this product - if it even exists! Is it possible to track these folks down and put them "out of business". The story in the pamphlet was hokey, but good fiction. Perhaps they could turn their energies to writing fiction instead of scamming innocent folks. I can't believe that they are doing this for 10+ years!
